Amazon Announces Hiring Pledge for Military Veterans
Commitment to Support Veterans and Active Duty Service Members
The Amazon Military Recruitment Team
Seattle, WA - Amazon has announced a bold hiring pledge to support U.S. military veterans and their families. The pledge aims to hire over 100,000 military veterans and military spouses by 2025.
This commitment builds on Amazon's existing initiatives to support the military community, including the Amazon Military Recruitment Team. This team is dedicated to identifying and supporting veterans and military personnel, providing them with job opportunities, resources, and training programs.
As part of the pledge, Amazon will offer military veterans and military spouses a variety of career paths, including leadership roles, technical positions, and customer service roles. Active duty service members are also eligible for a 12-week fellowship program that matches them with Amazon based on their skills and preferences.
Amazon is also investing in education and training programs to help veterans and military spouses prepare for careers in technology. The company has partnered with American Legion and other organizations to provide scholarships, mentorship programs, and job training.
"We are proud to support our nation's military community," said Dave Clark, CEO of Amazon Worldwide Consumer. "We believe that the skills and experience gained in the military are invaluable to Amazon, and we are committed to helping veterans and military spouses find meaningful careers at our company."
The hiring pledge is part of Amazon's broader commitment to diversity and inclusion. The company believes that a diverse workforce makes it stronger and more innovative.
